This morning I went for a walk around the convent grounds of the Poor Claire Sisters in Mayobridge which surrounds the Shrine of St Anne. Below are some images which I took along the way. The first three pictures were taken of the inside of the Shrine itself. Within the pictures, you can see the statue of St Anne which stands tall above her relic. I also took some pictures of the view from St Anne's Shrine itself overlooking the convent gardens.

St Anne's Shrine
As part of my research project I met up with a local historian who was able to inform me of additional information, & who also gave me leaflets & books on how St Anne became such an influential Saint within the parish of Mayobridge & how the Shrine came about. Above is a picture of some of the information I was given.

St Anne's Day
On Saturday July 26, hundreds of people from around the country visited the Shrine of St Anne, which is situated in the Poor Clare Convent grounds in Mayobridge, Co. Down, in order to celebrate the Feast Day of St Anne.
The Poor Clare Sisters of Mayobridge, assisted by many parishioners, were present to welcome pilgrims to the shrine from far and near. This annual event in the calendar of the parish is renowned countrywide, and many people came for the open air Mass which was celebrated at 3pm by Parish Priest, Fr Charles Byrne, assisted by Fr Tom McAteer and five visiting priests.
